English: Portrait of Joseph I of Portugal (1714-1777), Formerly identified as translate his brother-in-law Louis I of Spain (1707-1724).

"Obra sin concluir, se documenta por primera vez en 1794 en el Palacio Real del Buen Retiro como boceto atribuido a Michel-Ange Houasse de un retrato de medio cuerpo del rey español Luis I, hijo de Felipe V y de su primera esposa María Luisa Gabriela de Saboya. Ingresó al Real Museo, futuro Museo Nacional del Prado, como "retrato de un joven príncipe" de escuela francesa. En el catálogo de pinturas del Museo del Prado de 1972 se consideró obra a estilo de Ranc (Museo del Prado, Catálogo de las pinturas, 1972, p. 926, no 2370). Desde su exposición en 2002-2003 fue considerado retrato de Luis I pintado por Ranc en 1724. También se señaló el estado inacabado de la obra." [1]
