Bush Melburnda (Victoriya shtati) mashhur avstraliyalik vodevil ijrochilari Elizabeth Mariya Lay va Frederick William Bush oilasida tugʻilgan[4]. Uning onasi 1883-yildan beri Dora Devere, keyin esa Dora Busch sahna nomlari ostida faol boʻlgan. U Gudsonʼs Surprise Party bilan Hindistonga gastrol qilgan va Yangi Zelandiyaga ikki marta gastrol qilgan[5]. Ular 1889-yilda Dorothy (u atigi toʻrt oy yashagan) va 1891-yilda Anny May tugʻilganda, qisqa tanaffuslar bilan turli kompaniyalar bilan gastrol qilishni davom ettirdilar. Yangi Zelandiya boʻylab konsert gastrolidan soʻng, oila Tahiti orqali AQShga joʻnab ketdi[6].
